asphalt

Asphalt, also known as bitumen, is a highly viscous, black, and sticky form of petroleum. While it is most commonly used in road construction and waterproofing, its physical properties are a subject of study in material science. At room temperature, it behaves as a glass or solid, capable of being shattered, but over long periods, it flows as a Newtonian fluid, as demonstrated by the decadal drips in the Queensland experiment.
