Concept

asphyxiation

Asphyxiation is a condition arising from a severe deficiency of oxygen in the bloodstream and tissues, often leading to unconsciousness or death. When dry ice sublimes in an enclosed or poorly ventilated area, the released carbon dioxide gas, being denser than air, can displace oxygen, creating an oxygen-depleted environment and posing a significant risk of asphyxiation.
