Biomedical research centre in Cambridge, Massachusetts, founded in 2004 as a joint venture between MIT and Harvard with funding from Eli and Edythe Broad. Feng Zhang's group there filed competing CRISPR patents against Berkeley shortly after the 2012 Science paper; the resulting interference proceeding ran for nearly a decade and was decided largely in the Broad's favour in 2022.
