Franklin Stahl

Franklin Stahl, an older man with white hair and glasses, wears a suit and tie, exuding a scholarly demeanor.

American geneticist, born 1929, co-author of the Meselson–Stahl experiment. He went on to a long career at the University of Oregon working on genetic recombination in bacteriophage. The 1958 experiment was conducted during a summer at Woods Hole; Stahl and Meselson reportedly designed it on a beach over several days of conversation.
