French Atomic Energy Commission

The French Atomic Energy Commission, or Commissariat à l'Énergie Atomique (CEA), is a French government agency responsible for nuclear research and development. It played a key role in the discovery and analysis of the natural nuclear reactors at Oklo, Gabon, in 1972. The CEA continues to contribute to nuclear science and energy policy in France.
