KIC 8462852

A main-sequence F-type star located approximately 1,470 light-years from Earth in the constellation Cygnus. It became the subject of intense scientific and public scrutiny in 2015 due to unprecedented and irregular fluctuations in its brightness. These fluctuations, which saw the star dim by as much as 22 percent, were initially discovered by citizen scientists and remain a key case study in stellar anomalies.
