Klüver–Bucy syndrome

A rare neurological disorder resulting from bilateral damage to the temporal lobes, particularly the amygdala. Symptoms include hyperorality, hypersexuality, placidity (absence of fear), visual agnosia, and hypermetamorphosis (an urge to explore everything by touch). S.M.'s case shares some characteristics, especially the lack of fear.
