lechatelierite

Lechatelierite is a fragile, amorphous form of silica created when lightning superheats silica-rich sand or soil, causing it to melt and cool rapidly. It is a key component of fulgurites and is characterized by its glassy, non-crystalline structure. It forms under extreme conditions of heat and pressure, similar to those found in meteorite impacts and nuclear explosions.
