Myxomycetes

A group of organisms often referred to as plasmodial slime moulds, distinguished by their unique life cycle that includes a large, multinucleated amoeboid stage called a plasmodium. These organisms are found in damp, shady environments, feeding on microorganisms. They are known for their striking colours and diverse forms during their reproductive phase, and for exhibiting complex behaviours like maze-solving.
