Roger Sperry

Roger Sperry (1913–1994) was an American neuropsychologist and neurobiologist who won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1981 for his work on split-brain research. His experiments revealed the functional specialisation of the brain's cerebral hemispheres, demonstrating how severing the corpus callosum affected perception and behaviour. His findings revolutionised the understanding of brain lateralisation and consciousness.
