Ronald Gillespie

Ronald Gillespie was a British-Canadian chemist best known for his work on the VSEPR theory and his pioneering research into superacid systems at McMaster University. Alongside George Olah, he helped define the Hammett acidity scale and developed the chemical mixtures, such as Magic Acid, that allowed for the study of stable carbocations in liquid media.
