Villa Diodati

A mansion in Cologny, Switzerland, overlooking Lake Geneva. It is historically significant as the location where Mary Shelley, Percy Bysshe Shelley, Lord Byron, and John Polidori spent the summer of 1816. The confinement caused by the terrible weather led to the creation of the modern horror genres of science fiction and the vampire.
