Wilfrid Voynich

Wilfrid Voynich (1865–1930) was a Polish revolutionary, antiquarian, and book dealer. In 1912, he purchased the mysterious medieval manuscript that would later bear his name, acquiring it from a Jesuit college in Frascati, Italy. His acquisition brought the codex to international attention, sparking centuries of scholarly and cryptographic efforts to decipher its unique script and enigmatic illustrations.
