Hardwicke's woolly bat

A species of bat native to Southeast Asia that has formed a specialised symbiotic relationship with the pitcher plant Nepenthes hemsleyana. The bat uses the elongated pitchers as a secure, parasite-free daytime roost. In exchange for this shelter, the plant receives significant nutritional benefit from the nitrogen-rich guano the bat deposits while resting inside.
