A Dutch company based in Veldhoven, founded in 1984 as a small spin-out from Philips. It builds the photolithography machines that print circuit patterns onto silicon wafers, and is the sole manufacturer of the extreme-ultraviolet scanners that the leading chipmakers depend on. A single high-NA EUV machine sells for around 380 million dollars and contains roughly 100,000 parts.
