Atle Selberg

Norwegian-American mathematician (1917–2007) at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton. He proved that a positive fraction of zeta zeros lie on the critical line, gave the elementary proof of the Prime Number Theorem, and introduced the trace formula bearing his name. He won the Fields Medal in 1950.
