BeiDou

The image displays the logo for BeiDou, China's global satellite navigation system, featuring a circular design with grid lines and the word "BeiDou" prominently displayed in white against a dark background.

China's global satellite navigation system, named for the Big Dipper. Built out in three generations from 2000 onward, it reached full global coverage in 2020 with around thirty-five satellites distributed across medium, geostationary and inclined geosynchronous orbits. Its onboard timekeepers are a mix of rubidium standards and hydrogen masers, and like GPS and Galileo it must apply relativistic corrections to deliver position fixes accurate to a few metres.
