Indian lunar mission that landed on 23 August 2023 near the Moon's south pole, making India the first country to soft-land in that region. The Vikram lander carried a small NASA-supplied laser retroreflector — a single uncoated corner cube the size of a doorknob — intended as a next-generation ranging target. As of writing it has not yet been successfully ranged from Earth.
