Copper Scroll

A unique inventory of hidden treasure discovered in Cave 3 at Qumran in 1952. Unlike the parchment and papyrus scrolls, it is made of a sheet of nearly pure copper. The text describes sixty-four locations where vast quantities of gold and silver were supposedly hidden. Its literal vs. symbolic meaning remains one of the most debated mysteries in biblical archaeology.
