Frank Seiberling

Frank Seiberling, dressed in a formal suit with a patterned tie, stands against a dark background, exuding an air of professionalism and historical significance.

American industrialist (1859-1955) who founded the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Akron, Ohio in 1898 with thirteen employees and a small down payment on a used building. He chose the company's name as a tribute to Charles Goodyear; the inventor's family had no involvement and received no royalties. Seiberling later founded a second tire company, Seiberling Rubber, after being forced out of Goodyear in 1921.
