Marshall Space Flight Center

A large white rocket stands prominently in front of a modern building at dusk, with illuminated windows and a clear sky above.

NASA's propulsion centre, based in Huntsville, Alabama, founded in 1960 around Wernher von Braun's team. Marshall built the Saturn V, manages the Space Launch System, and supplies engines and structural elements for crewed programmes. Its independence from the JPL and Lockheed Mars chain made it a natural home for the Climate Orbiter investigation.
