A public aquarium on the Napier waterfront on the eastern coast of New Zealand's North Island. Founded in 1956 and rebuilt in 2002, it holds tuatara, kiwi, and a rotating collection of Pacific marine species. Its brief moment of international fame came in 2016 when a resident octopus named Inky escaped through a floor drain and made it back to Hawke's Bay.
