Oscar Reutersvärd

Oscar Reutersvärd was a Swedish artist known as the father of impossible figures. In 1934, while a student, he produced the first known drawing of the Penrose triangle by arranging a series of cubes in a contradictory perspective. His work preceded the formal mathematical analysis of such objects by decades, and he spent his life producing thousands of impossible drawings.
