The entrance to the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) building features a large glass atrium with the PTB logo prominently displayed above the entrance.

The Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt, Germany's national metrology institute, headquartered in Braunschweig. Founded in 1887 with Hermann von Helmholtz as its first president. Led the International Avogadro Coordination project, which used isotopically enriched silicon-28 spheres — among the roundest objects ever manufactured — to count atoms with sufficient precision to redefine the kilogram in terms of the Planck constant.
