Shapley Concentration

The largest concentration of matter in the local universe, located approximately 650 million light-years away in the constellation of Centaurus. It is a massive supercluster of over 8,000 galaxies, possessing a total mass ten thousand times that of the Milky Way. Its gravitational influence is so profound that it pulls the entire Laniakea supercluster, including the Great Attractor itself, toward its massive core.
