Alan Dressler

An American astronomer and staff member at the Carnegie Observatories known for his work on the large-scale structure of the universe. In the 1980s, he led the 'Seven Samurai' team, which discovered that the Milky Way and its neighbours were being pulled toward a specific region of space. This research provided the first definitive evidence of the Great Attractor and fundamentally changed our understanding of cosmic flows.
