Kepler

A circular object with a central lens-like structure surrounded by evenly spaced protrusions against a dark background, resembling the Kepler space telescope's design.

A NASA space telescope launched in 2009 to find exoplanets by watching for the faint dimming as they crossed the face of their host stars. Over nine years it identified more than 2,600 confirmed worlds, including the first small rocky planets in the habitable zones of Sun-like stars. The mission ended in 2018 when it ran out of hydrazine.
