Oberkochen

A picturesque town at sunset with a prominent church steeple and traditional European architecture, set against a backdrop of rolling hills and autumnal trees.

Town in Baden-Württemberg, southwest Germany, where the western half of Carl Zeiss relocated after 1945 when the Soviet occupation took control of the original Jena works. The two firms operated separately for forty-five years under the same name until German reunification merged them in 1990. The semiconductor optics division Zeiss SMT is still headquartered there.
